...a little more yellow... I did some welding here and there as well but nothing to earth shattering. Now I am really struggling with my lack of patience! I need to just leave this alone for a couple of days now and let the paint harden up before I finish painting the cab and bolt it all back together but I can't leave well enough alone... I still have to paint the rear axles but I need to make some parts for them yet. Once that is done I will move on to the trailer...

![]() ![]() The cab still needs some yellow and green. The rad just needs some green on the top tank. ![]() Thanks for looking! |

My order from RC4WD came in today. I picked it up at the post office and when I got home and opened it they had shipped the wrong tires.

I sent them an email about it but I guess I will have to wait until next week to get a response. Not sure what to do other than that. Really disappointing but I'm sure it will get straightened out...I hope!

Reg, nice job with the paint. So far so good! I think patience and prep (clean surfaces) is the key to a decent paint job. That and light coats. What brand of paint and primer are you using? The wheelbarrow puts the size of the chassis a little into perspective!

I'm using Plastikote paint. They are the only ones that offered school bus yellow in and aerosol that I could find. So far it's gone OK. Only one piece F'd up on me so far.

Yeah she's a big piece! The frame is quite heavy! The truck RTR less the trailer is 37lbs. I used 1 whole can of yellow paint just to do the frame. It looks bigger to me with some paint on it. Definitely will dwarf a King Hauler and be a pain to carry around. |

Does anyone know where I might find some chrome Kenworth scripts for the engine side panels? I was planning on having some decals made for there but proper scripts would look better.

I made some progress again today...I wanted to add more detail to the rear axles so I made some brake boosters for them. I also made some caps for the front wheels, installed the headlights, painted the green on the cab and painted and installed the rear axles onto the frame. When I was painting the front tandem I dropped it in the freshly cut grass! I dropped more than a few four letter words as well I can promise you! I was able to pick off most of the bits but it still made a mess. Thankfully the forward axle isn't as visible!

			1st: What a GREAT build

![]() The paint makes all the difference ![]() ![]() 2nd: As I have a dislike for painting also I must ask this - Are you planning on putting another coat of yellow on things??? Unless the pics are screwing things up, it looks like your yellow could use another coat on a lot of the parts. The grey primer looks like it is showing thru on some of the frame and other parts. 3rd: Now to really mess you up Your wheels will not look like the same color as your frame unless you undercoat them with grey as you did the frame. A white undercoat really makes yellow paint seem to glow compared to grey.I really hope that I didn't spoil your day.

The wheels are staying white and everything yellow has a minimum of three coats already so no I won't be doing anymore coats. Any more and I will start to lose fine detail on bolt heads and other small parts. In person or outside it looks better. It seems the camera catches all the shadows and makes it look worse than it really does. I will put some paint on the chassis bolts with a brush sometime in the near future though.

At any rate no spoiling of my day! In the end it only really matters that I am happy with the result .Reg |

Man, that's a pretty nice paint job, Reg. You know we all love seeing models in their raw state, when they are made from aluminum, and we often say 'keep it unpainted', but I just think paint finishes it off so much better. Nothing replicates the look of a real machine like a model that is all metal, and has been painted.
