Filing the ridge worked.
  Before clipping the sides back onto the fuel tank, did a quick test set up to finalise the servo settings.  Sides clipped on again and re-installed in position.  Final test Diff unlocked  Locked  Reattached the little clip I made to push the bowden cable forward to better clear the front propshaft.
