Thanks Joe. I think for the price I will run a Sabertooth as well. I have them in all of my other scratch builds so it keeps it simple and I haven't seen much in the $70 range that works as well for these things.

A worthy addition to the KW 850, Reg. I like it. Are those radiator shutters? If so, are they going to be functional? Just kidding!

! Yeah they're "supposed to be" shutters. I'll leave the functioning shutters up to someone like Ari! It's cold up here in Canada anyway Eh! Might as well leave them shut!

I haven't done much with the vehicles the last few years...something else seems to have taken over all my free time and money It is nice to take the truck out for a trip down memory lane every now and then though When I started building toys I thought it was great because they didn't take up much space and they were much cheaper to build. Now that I have a few I've realized that I was wrong! My shop needs to get bigger or something needs to go...The shutters are made out of...well um, shutters. Sort of anyway. I took a couple of strips off of an old plastic window blind and trimmed them down. I figured that it already had a bit of a curve so I thought I would give it a try. I think it turned out OK and the best part is that it was free. Reg |

Headlights are looking great, Reg. You seem to have a knack for making nice parts with your rotary table. Makes me want to buy one and give it a shot. Does it take some time to get the knack of one? Or is it as simple as calculating everything out, from the center of your radius?

What's that?lol I think it's pretty easy with the DRO on my machine. It's definitely a handy piece to have. Mine didn't come with indexing plates so it takes a little more care and attention when doing bolt circles. I guess I could do them with my DRO but the rotary table works just fine. I finished up the lights yesterday but didn't take any pics. Maybe later today when I get home from work.Reg |
