Default Death Of A Hauler

Hi Guys I had to do a trip 1800km north last week taking a Road Train load of remote telecommunication equipment. On the way up I came across this sorry site. Not sure what it started out as, think it was a Kenworth? It Was 180km from the nearest town.

My Ride is in the back ground.

That'd be quite a shocker to happen up on Paul, for sure!

Do you guys have good cell phone signal throughout your travels?

Yep sure is a kenworth, from what i can make of it looks to me as if its a T604, reason being it has the air filter on top of the engine, engine also looks like a cat maybe a c15 but correct me if im wrong, has got side skirts for the first pair of tanks, and how the bull bar curves around, here is what i think it was, well similar to

Hi Joe, in that area there is no phone coverage so you have to wait for someone to come along. In our trucks we carry Sat phone just incase something go wrong.
In fact on this same trip I broke down out of phone range and had to use the Sat phone to get help. ( hydraulic pump and PTO failed out in the middle of nowhere, but that's another story)

Probably 500k return trip... Scrapers won't want it.... Insurers will probably be forced to pick it up. They probably have it out for tender, if the rig was insured...

Of course the next curbside clean up could pick it up!

Cheers,
AP

Another trip North brings more carnage for another driver,
This was a triple Road Train of hay, the outside temperature was 43 deg and 35km South of Mount Newman in the North of Western Australia.
You can see the smoke is still coming off the piles. All of the trailers are now scrap as they have twisted with heat. The prime mover early in the thread is still in the same place and has not been picked up by the scrapers, but as I drove past it looked like the motor has a new home.

Thanks for looking Paul
