Default 3D Printer files for Bodies

Ran across this place that could be helpful if you've got a friendly Pooping Robot.

https://www.scale3drc.com/the-models

The body files are designed for 1/10 so there's going to be some scaling to work out, and probably a little redesign on a few things.
But endless sanding may beat doing a full scratch build.

It's still scale, and i play fairly well with others, most of the time...

This guy has a ton of files and they will also need some sizing... plus these are both a little more than scale3drc....

And this guy he has a B series Mack and a Chevy C70 I haven't printed them yet but...
and the same applies you need to do some sizing....

Hope you don't mind me adding these on Frizz...

Hora has some EXCELLENT models! I tried to print a a couple of times, & my plastic pooping mochine messed up each time! The parts that it made BEFORE messing up looked like it would have been a decent model! One more upgrade to the machine, & I think I'll give er a go again!

I'm glad for the help jerry. Feel free to tag on and extend.

We've gotta help your Plastic Pooping Robot Friends find meaning and purpose in their lives. If they sit idle too long, they can start getting weird. Then next thing you know the 'internet of things' becomes senient and your home automation starts going all Hal 2000...

Maybe THAT's why if I don't print something every couple of days I'll find the filament snapped off at the extruder drive? The Plastic Pooping Robot got bored and was acting out?

I don't know if this counts, but I'm currently working on the 3D model for "Big Red". This was Ford's gas turbine concept truck built for the 1964 World's Fair. Big Red was given coast to coast testing. It was built for long haul trucking at freeway speeds, and its' normal configuration was with double trailers. If/when I get it done, if anybody wants the files they'll be available.

This is a stock photo of "Big Red".

Big Red is still alive and well, fully restored - gas turbine and all, and is in the hands of a private collector.

His somewhat checkered past.

This is a screenshot of the 3D PDF of my 3D model as it currently exists.

It's pretty primitive yet, but it's a starting point. I'm not sure if I even build this thing. But since the original Big Red had a fiberglass body, if I do build it, I'll probably 3D print the body and make plugs&molds, to mold the fiberglass body panels from. After all, how hard can it be - right?

I sure hope the pictures show up, I always have trouble on this sight with pictures.

Don

That will be really cool if you can make it happen...

Now there's a blast from the past. I remember reading about this truck in Popular Mechanics when I was a boy. Hope you are able to make a go of this project.

I've done a little more work on Big Red.

I've shelled out the side panels and added more detail to the cab. I've got to add the fluting to the trim band at the top of the cab and I've only got the cab trim done on the driver's side.

I've added the "Duplex" wheels and tires, and the 5 spoke rims that were on Big Red. I've also got the turbine exhaust stack added, and the recess for the air lines.

I also added more detail to the grill and front bumper areas.

I hope those images show up, I always have trouble remembering how to post pictures on this site.

Last night I stumbled across a link to 3D print files, some free - most for sale, at Fab365. (I was watching the build video of a 3D printed Firefly Serenity ship, but that's a tale for another forum.) Anyway, this is the link to Fab365's home page. https://fab365.net/

If you look under the "vehicles & machinery" collection category you will find several trucks by CARLOS_DIAZ. They are all 1:14 scale, and for about $10-$15 you get the files to print a scale model, and printing times/recommendations/instructions. You want to build a WW2 era GMC Deuce and a half, it's there. (In great detail.)
