Thanks a lot guys.

Picked up the silver one this afternoon. It looks lighter colored in the pictures than it actually is thanks to the flash. It also doesn't show the little bit of metal flake that is actually in the color either. I also made a stop at the sign shop and have them making up some scale reflective tape for me too.

Somebody needs to buy one of these and slip it under their Christmas Tree!

I'm sold on the powder coat Reg. Great idea, the last thing I want is more aluminum to polish!.....
yup, I'm still not over that experience

I think it's the ticket! Even if you don't like the color, all you have to do is scuff it and paint over it. It's the perfect undercoat if you ask me. It hides little imperfections and finger prints wipe right off not like the raw aluminum too.

The local shop has nearly 50 colors in stock with access to about 100 more. Of course the special order colors are not cheap.

I still have one more box just like the black one that is uncoated if someone was interested and wanted to pick a color.

I picked up the reflective decals today and put them on. These boxes are ready to go! For anyone interested in what I am building, don't think that you have to buy what I have already made! I am not outsourcing this work and can make changes very easily to the length(0"-16.5" not including cab protector), width and height of these boxes! In many cases it won't even change the price. At $700 Canadian dollars, you will not find a comparable piece!

Thanks for looking!

That works awesome.... That's one issue I have with my dump...you have to stop before it binds up when at full lower or full raised position.....are you planning to sell just the lifts?

I hadn't really thought about selling the lifts by themselves. I guess I have sold boxes without them so it would make sense to sell each item individually if anyone was interested.

Looking good Reg. Just a suggestion, but you could probably eliminate the upper stop as the load usually goes out around 45 degrees. I never put the upper on mine as working with the upper island gang it's all about the cycle time from load to dump. If the box is not down when you're back to the pit they get cranky as heck!!!

Yeah I would agree Rob. I don't really think it is all that necessary unless you have a little one or a Noobie at the controls. The lower switch will be nice to have though for sure! I'm looking forward to putting this through it's paces in Campbell River in a couple weeks!

Sounds good Reg. Got the train issue all figured out this year, so it looks like the trains will haul one way and we'll backhaul with the trucks. It will be a good test for the screw drives for sure.

Check back to the first page to see Joe's GL with a widened out version of my dump beds installed. We just changed the head board to make it fit. I am not entirely sure if Joe is running a GL frame in that truck but I could build a box to fit even if it isn't. I would just need some accurate measurements.

It was a king hauler frame... but with an unusual motor trans combo that sticks out a ways from the back of cab, precise box length measurement was given from where the original Tamiya 5th wheel holes are for a factory fitment with no extra holes drilled. Reg done it exactly how I wanted it.
