Looking at the photo, the box lid seems to say "static model." I sure hope the metal hull is an indicator that a full option R/C version is planned.

They are late, way to late! Heng long released them three years ago in several different options, from basic ones with plastic gears (all rtr) to steel gears with metal track. Detail is amazing with lots of small extra super detailing parts if you wish to add them on, all of that for about $300. What started as basic toy grade company, Heng Long advanced to a very high quality and detail manufacturer.Yes, the sound system is mediocre, but for about $100, you can upgrade the whole MFU to the authentic sound mix.
Here is my toy.

That's a good looking Abrams Kaptain but I'll stick to the Tamiya if/when it's released. I currently have 14 full function tanks from my tank battling days, Tamiya, Hen Long conversions and even a pair of Bandai conversions and one scratch built Puma. Placed side by side there is a difference I can see. Not cutting down the Hen Long in any way but, it's like the choice between Wedico and Tamiya. You pay your money and you take your choice. I'm thankful we have those choices.
Having spoken with Tamiya reps back at Danville the way they choose what models to release is "unique" to say the least. I'm just happy to see them still supporting their 1/16 scale armour line with a new release.
Now they just need to do more American TRUCKS!

You got a point. I just wish they had more new tanks like Russian T90 Heng Long, released it last year and I just had to have it. Payed through the nose to have it shipped it from England, but what a beast!, super, super detailed. I ripped it apart, installed Clark board and made a recoil unit. Hoping someone will do 1/16 Merkava ,any model version : one, two, three, no matter, they all look amazing. After all how many tigers one can have.
And yes, trucks as well, old war world 2 would be great.

Looks nice. Just not into the newer armor. You can never have too many Tigers. Whether it is Tiger I's or King Tigers. Awesome designs for their time. Just wish someone would make a Chaffee or Hellcat.

Too many Tigers? Never! LOL!!!!!!!
Tiger 1 early
Tiger 1 Mid
Tiger 1 Late
Sturm Tiger
Tiger II Porsche Turret
Tiger II Henschel Turret
Jagd Tiger

Hey Lynn! Did I miss any?

Seriously, I too prefer WWII designs. About as modern as I'd like to go is a Bulldog. A Chaffee would be sweet, so would a Stuart or a Lee/Grant. But that darn Leo II and Abrams sure do look good.

You forgot the Tunisian Tiger I!! My personal favorite and last one I built. Still a M-18 Hellcat would be nice to battle with the Tigers. Not sure if the turret could turn fast enough to keep up with the Hellcat as long as you don't use the spin technique!! Also forgot the Ferdinand or Elepant. While I don't really consider them Tigers, many do.

Just got an update on the Abrams from a Tamiya dealer. It will be a static model. Sorry to disappoint you!
