Default 1/16 Axle with Differential needed

Current project needs a rear axle with differential. Tamiya/Lesu diffs are physically too large. The 1/18 axles I have seen don't have diffs.
Suggestions requested.

Thanks!

Lesu also makes 1/16 axles with locking differential. They are fysically smaller then the 1/14 scale Tamiya ones. In Europe they are sold under the Thicon brand: https://www.thicon-models.com/thicon...b-sperrbar-3_1

You may want to look for the original branded Lesu ones, but the sizes are mentioned on the Thicon site, so you can check if they are right for you.

The quality is good for the price, and the locking differential works really nice off road.

If price matters, check out Aluminum axle upgrades for JJRC 1/16 trucks.

They match the 1/16 WPL axle dimentions enough to be interchangable to the rest of those chassis. Have 5mm wheel hex. The pumpkin is bigger to fit the Geared open Diff instead of Spool.

What are ya building?

It's still scale, and i play fairly well with others, most of the time...

I'll second Frizzen... JJRC even has a metal upgrade for the differential internals

Frizzen & jerry56: thanks for the info. I have looked at the JJRC Q61 truck and it shows the differential but I'm not clear which assembly I should get nor which aluminum housing I need - the Ebay descriptions don't have enough detail for me to be confident when ordering. Would appreciate your advice.
Thanks!

Here is a complete 4x4 set with Differentials... looking at them these fit the WPL housings not the JJRC so you could skip the JJRC entirely and go with these
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...mend-recommend

Now if you already have a metal WPL axle set here is the rear differential to put in them

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...mend-recommend
And this is the front
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...rch-mainSearch
And all 3

Ok you said q61, so you want a 2 axle truck?

--The rtr trucks have plastic guts, plastic housings, with '2 screw' diff covers.

-- There's an upgrade with plastic housings with '4 screw' diff covers, this has metal gears with bearings
https://m.banggood.com/2PCS-Upgraded...lixnkid=776878

You can get plastic guts in plastic housings, metal guts in plastic, or metal guts in metal.

Good luck with translations, it gets pretty creative

Pretty similar 1/16 trucks with parts compatibility: WPL, JJRC, MN, Fayee

Jerry, cool find. I didn't know there were any WPL axle sized working Diffs

It's odd but sometimes there are things on Aliexpress that aren't on Banggood....I used to use banggood all the time but I found Aliexpress cheaper...in some cases a lot cheaper.

Thanks for the assistance. Just ordered.

I'm converting a 1/16 diecast GMC flatbed straight truck.

For some reason EVERY time I try to order on Bangood, my financial institution declines the charges to my card! For that reason I switched to AliExpress for most things that I don't urgently need. They seem to have some really SLOW boats these days!

Yes. Recd & assembled. Look good, just have to get back on the project and decide what leaf springs I want to use.

Sparkycuda:

Any updates on your die-cast GMC straight truck conversion? Ever decide which springs to use?
