T9, hundreds!

Patrick, I use a DX18 with the JD, it has rotary sliders on each side of the radio, left is steering & right is for/rev. The instructions are pretty easy to follow for mixing, master = valves, slave = pump, get your +/-'s in the right order & you're done. I'll use this radio for all previous & future hoes.
left up/dn = boom
left l/r = swing
rht up/dn = stick
rht l/r = bucket
3pos for pump - dn is off, middle is 30%, up is 90% (if I remember correctly)
2pos for coupler
2pos connected to esc for screener
...I'd have to add the X-Plus module to the rx for the other 9chs, if I wanted to add anything more.

No worries John, Fumotec will make you one too, get at 'er! Thank goodness I paid for mine last Sept, with the euro-cdn exchange today it'd 13% more!

I got 5 valves with this 490, so I might consider a thumb, but I've never had a use for one before. Fumotec figured some time this yr he'd come with some attachments, though he didn't say what exactly.

lol, I would Joe, but right now my wallet says "oh no you don't!!!"

Question for future reference: does the PC490 have the hydro quick coupler as an option?

I would take the excavator, I just enjoy running that particular type of model equip more than anything else. The mic on the camera amplifies the sound much more than it really is, you're probably going to be outside 90% of the time, right? You'll hardly hear it.

The 490's track drives & hyds are virtually the same as the JD, but its overall size is 20% smaller & half the weight. Don't tell anybody, I got one coming, it'll probably ship sometime in the next week, but I won't be starting on it till next winter.

Joe, ship it this way. I'd love to build it and test it for ya.

Ben

If you didn't live on the other side of the continent in another country Ben, I'd letcha have at 'er.

I got the loose dirt cleaned up & then some more ground soaked up to start digging again. I think I left my garden hose outside, so I came up with another means of slow dripping water, which is with these plastic bowls that I drilled one 1,5mm hole in the bottom & it's working great!

And a movie of the JD pulling out its biggest rock yet!

Joe,

I know you are well established on the "Dark Side = Hydra", but it sure looks like a crane would have been handy for that boulder?

The soakers look like they work perfectly! Thanks for the video!

Awesome Joe!! Now what are you to do when you finally hit bedrock?? lol
Guess it's hydraulic hammer time or some M80's.

Any news on when the PC490 will arrive?

John

Well dang it Joe. Hopefully I'll get to play with it in person in the future then.

Thanx Dean.

The rock was 28lbs (I finally got a scale) and while I was at it I weighed the JD850 too, it was right on 80lbs, full of fuel.

A crane Jim? I don't think I hurt the rock (or track hoe) by dragging it. Would any of Kerst's cranes be able to lift 30lbs? The ground is crazy unlevel down there and it'd be quite the harness you'd have to rig up too. It'd take all day to swing that boulder outta there, eh?!

No worries of bedrock John, not where I live. Frank hasn't spoke up in a week if it's on its way yet.

Well Ben, maybe we do a 5yr anniversary get-together in St Louis, make it a 3day'er this time?

That was a heavy rock Joe. That excavator sure is quite strong.
