I tend to buy all the larger technic kits when they come out just for the joy of building. Then I usually turn around and sell them on ebay. But theres always a few that are just to cool to part with. The Arocs is one of them.

seems scale building not an easy hobby. it requires time and dedication.

I love the crane on your truck! I wish some made a 1:10 version. I would so have one.

I can't imagine how big the truck is if it's in 1:10 scale. I'm sure you will get one if you have a chance to see it in person :-)

Hi Chris, me thinks you are right about Prop ... the moment he sees one in person he will change scale!

Have been contemplating getting the longer chassis for the MAN TGX so there is room for the Palfinger but a bit daunting with all the electronics and hydraulics.

Hi Stephen, why not? It's not that difficult as you think because everything is in placed and the crane is assembled. You only need to mount it on, but the tricky part is electronics that you've mentioned. However if you want to combine the crane and roll on/off kipper together I'm sure it will give you a headache

Hi Chris, since it is not that complicated to get longer chassis rails at a later date, I will keep going with the MAN as is at the moment. Once we move back to Europe and are closer to ScaleART, I might give the conversion a shot so I can send the whole truck to them to sort out if I make a big mess ... Just thinking about all the cables and hydraulic lines is enough to give me a headache!

Thomas wrote a build report (in German/English) about his truck with Palfinger: http://www.modelltruck.net/showthrea...ger-Kran/page2

Just look at the amount of servos and hydraulic lines ...
