Nice looking rims and tires Lou! I love the little grab handles on the hood as well. All the little details really add up.

It's about time you posted some pics on here! Probably if you didn't spend so much time texting some guy that was stuck on a boat you could have posted those a day earlier! They look great Lou! I'm looking for ward to seeing it at the show!

That baby looks sweet, if you took pics of it in a dirt pile or with trees behind it, you would have a real hard time telling it wasn't a 1:1 truck. That hood and front end came out great, and the wheels look fantastic. Nice work.

First of all I want to thank whom every it was for the nomination of build of the month ...Very stiff compitition and some great builds being done these day and thanks again to eveyone for all your comments and encouragement ..Was laid off a few months ago so a bit more time to build but my budget is kind of short ..Got quite abit done on the pacific and a few more nice little surprises on the way .
I made up a chain rack and a set of single railerrs to hang on the rack

A new cab guard ..One that with support the reach of the logging trailer

A new set of mirrors with clearance lights installed ..Theres something about the stock tamiya mirror that dont appeal to me ..especialy the 4 screws on the backs ..i modifide the frames a little ..Would of like to get the set that guy in eruope is making but tight budget is kind of holding me back

Square fender lights and a Pacific logo crest on the rad support

And a start on some air tanks

Heres a few with the mirrors

Thanks Trucker Jo and Mike ..Mike just the wire frame is from tamiya .For the light i ran only 1 wire and the other wire was attached to the inner side of the metal mirror ..the second conection will be attached to the lower wire frame threads inside the door .so basicly im using the metal frame as one wire ..have to make sure the + side never makes contact with the frame .I added the extra cross brace by glueing it with JB weld ..Check these out ..These are wicked http://www.lkwmodellbauberlin.1a-shops.eu/

Fabulous craftsmanship and detail. Great job Lou! A true working beauty. Many of the trucks that are on here don't often get dirty, this is a true down and dirty beauty.

What a difference from first pictures. From a stock vehicle now a realy prptp looking truck model. Do like the spoke wheels a lot, a real workhorse should have those! And also those steps on fuel tanks.
Congrates to a really nice model, guess it will be better with more details like the airtanks.

Perfect details, Lou! That cab guard is awesome! The mirrors that Tamiya (and Wedico for that matter) use are just flat out ugly. I really like the small improvements you made to yours. It's defintely miles ahead of the stock pieces. Thanks for sharing the trick for fitting the bulbs inside the mirrors. Great thinking on using the metal frame of the mirror to complete the circuit. I might have to borrow that idea.

Thanks Izzy ..Very flattered ..Coming from a master builder as yourself.I kindof wish I had torn the whole thing appart and did a frame up instead of a makeover ..Im impressed with your workhorse as well

Thanks Nathan they are far from perfect but I glad you agree they look better. If you got even more creative im sure you could even hide the other wire in some small tubing instead of wire framing ..that was my initial plan..BTW the bulbs are grain of wheat i picked up at the LHS ..I did try them out on a receiver battery and they looked ok ..Thats what this forum is all about ..Sharing ideas , Making new friends , Helping others

Thanks For looking
