It's not your eyes.. its a 6 volt lead acid battery. The battery just lifts out and the rest stays bolted in place.

looks awesome Reg... I have fond memories of the euclid as a kid My dad used to run one at a pit back in Nova Scotia .. and once and a while on saturdays he would take me to work with him and I got to drive around in it all day sitting on a empty milk crate..

Haha, Good times... When I was little my friends and I used to crawl up on the box and drop firecrackers down the exhaust stack of our R18. Years later when we got the truck running again some of the spent firecrackers came flying back out I remember my dad being like WTF? Where did those come from?... Oops... My best friend and I spent a fair bit of time driving the truck to build a motocross track here when we were teenagers. When we were 15 driving the old truck seemed pretty cool! Actually it still does...
