Well, I can wait no longer! It's time to take my new buildings and place them in the yard and see how well they withstand the elements 24/7.
Still a whole lot of work and cleaning up to do but things are looking good and it seems that each spring it's getting easier to clean and set things up

Next is take down the tarp garage and have all that new space to play in I can see that I'm going to need some more buildings but here's where it's at right now......

You're gonna need more housing when the steel plant fires up. Maybe a ghetto? Every town needs a place that you are afraid to drive through.

Lookin real good!

Hey an idea,, after watching a few of the European truck/equipment show I see they plant chia seeds or something like sprouts, fast growing little seedlings. Looks pretty cool with small plant life. Maybe play with the idea and a week or so befor the event plant some if it works. I've always wanted some small shrubs or plants but not much stuff out there that looks the scale size. I'll try and find one of those videos. Just an idea for you to think about. Not only are you now a building contractor you could be the city landscaping engineer!! Lol!!

Good idea Reg. I'm thinking what about a trailer park right next to the plant. I could pump out a few Coroplast trailers in no time.

I know what you mean RW. The yard is looking kinda barren and flat. Definitely needs some scale greenery. The video does give me some ideas. I like how they trimmed spruce tree branches to look like trees. Also reminds me of the moss we have growing in the bush around here I can use to look like cedar bushes around the house.
And Susan has a super green thumb and will fix me up I'm sure.

The main bridge I definitely need is to span this rooted area. I always wanted to run the road through here and have more free space around the screening plant. It's about 9-10ft distance I'm guessing. The road at the top of pic can be moved further out to allow the approach to the bridge and get over all the roots.
Could just fill it all in with dirt but a bridge would be much more fun.

Pics just don't show it right but here it is.

The steel plant was more of a plan b project but realized that with no mosquitoes at all this time of year I should deal with it now because come June I won't last out there for more than 5 minutes!

So things are still in mock up, moved a few things around last night and here's what I got so far.

Not to worry Mark. Bugs are bad in May and June but by August they're all dead and the worst is over. only way I can play in June is wearing a head net , long sleeve shirt and can't forget a pair of gloves. The buggers were biting the back of my hands like crazy as I'm trying to hold and run the radio!

When that time comes and I can't play, I'll be in the basement making more buildings is the plan.

As I was cleaning up around the steel plant I found a section of weeping tile buried in the leaves so I put some of it to good use .
happy enough with the layout, I think it's time for some paint for the concrete stacks and some doors and windows on the buildings. Maybe I'm just retarded and convincing myself it looks ok?

one thing is for sure, it looks a heck of a lot better than the waste pile of brush and concrete that it was.

Thanks RW! I've seen those but never thought of it I like the first pic with single stripe. That way it can't be mistaken for giant candy cane or barbers pole and the Santa thing.

All I need to do now is figure out how to make the stacks smoke. I'm thinking a whole bunch of incense or something in a bowl sitting on top of concrete pillars then slip pipe over and voila?
