Looks very familiar the way of make tracks. But I did the pads from laser cut parts too. Nice!

Laser cutting is not exactly cheap, but not so expensive if you provide your own CAD files. The only problem may be to find a company which is open-minded and will accept to work for hobbyists.....

Now, if you are a bit lazy and not afraid dealing high $$, you may order these stainless steel track pads, or the cheaper diecast version
