Looks great Cooper!!! Really like watching this build, having built a similar haul truck it is interesting to see how you are designing and building yours....best thing about scratch builds is that if you had a number of different builders making the same model each builder would come up with a different design and or solution to each part of the build to create the same end results...lol...to me scratch built models are the best!!! This will be another excellant build for you to add to your collection.....keep up the nice work !!!

Thanks Kp! Yes scratch builds are good for me as I don't know what to expect and it's always a challenge, like adult Legos. . I've spent a good bit of time looking over your haul truck. Still jealous of a waterjet!!! Lol!!!

I've been trying to keep thing square and lined up and I think it's paying off. Have had to deal with some unexpected welding distortions. But have been finding out they can work to your advantage. Just have to know where to put the first welds and heat. Some pics of setting up in some clamps and sides welded. Working on installing floor tonight. Having a harder time trying to figure out how to clamp this big tub down to get a distortion free bed. Need more angle blocks and chunks of square metal. Been using whatever I have laying around that can keep shape when clamped.

Actually laid down some flat welds on these, not even going to sand them down. Flat welds are getting easier for me, I may not show the inside corners to ya'all,,,, they don't look to great. Kind of like that late night girl, good from far but far from good!!! Lol!!

When you weld the floor pan in, just stitch weld it . If you want to do a solid weld, come back through later and fill in between the stitches alternating ( like fill between 1 in 1 area then move to another area to allow a lil cooling ) Do like a .25"-.375" weld with about an inch between . Otherwise, looks great .

Yeah,,,,,, I should have looked on the forum before I ran a long bead!!! Realized that ,,,after she warped between the side supports!! Other side was done that way. I found my saving grace,, paint will be a challenge as she is going to be a new , used hard old truck. Figure my burn through holes will be body rusting out . I always like used machines anyway. So for those that see this later, it's made to look used and abused!! Yeah, that's my story and sticking to it! Lol!!!!

A pic just for you mark, now I have a way to haul the other trucks. Was going to put the d11 in but too heavy to lift tonight

You can always bring it down here and we can fix it . Sometimes it's easier for me to show then to explain . I figured you'd be able to put two trucks in the body side by side .

That is looking great to me! I'd just use a tiny bit of body filler on those little imperfections if you are worried about it. Other wise I'd say leave it and be happy!

Oh, now that I know how wide it is I would say it is perfect!

Enough time to have a nice cold beer at the very least! Hmmm, driver might be fairly drunk by the end of day in the backyard. Better drink lite beer.

Oh I know but at least I can appreciate the size of this thing better now. I actually thought it was bigger. That's not to say it isn't a huge 1/14 model!

TRUCKMAKER, I have something in mind that I plan to start on soon that will fill the need for that.lol

We're waiting impatiently! Your trailer builds are the best out there by far but your personal builds are off the hook!

I knew sooner or later we could get reg to build something!! Him thinking about it is a start!! . Build it bigger!! Lol!!!

After getting the top of the dump box figured out and stepping back, I'm wondering how I'm going to move this thing!! I did tie in the front bumper pretty good. Always figured that will make a good handhold. And the tailgate. But still gonna be awkward and heavy!!

F#$K YEAH! That looks wicked RW!

My plan that I have been dreaming about for some time involves a lot of Hi-lite green, a cushion on the cab guard, and fenders strong enough to support my feet. My biggest problems are BUDGET, trying to decide on an engine/trans combo and finding the time to work on such a project. All in good time I guess...

Keep up the great work!
