Default Tamiya Scania R620 6x4 and a MFC-03

Hi All
Can someone help please? I have a Tamiya Scania R620 6x4 and a MFC-03 with a Spektrum DX18
I am having trouble setting up the MFC.
The transmitter and receiver have binded OK.
I have put SW2 on the MFC control unit into the centre position.
I have reset the MFC to default. That seems to work ok.
Then set the Unit into teach mode .and moved the transmitter sticks as per the manual i.e.
Left Stick
Up, down, right, left
Right stick
Up, down, right, left
But the indicators keep flashing and the red LED on the control unit keeps flashing.
Can someone help please?

don't move the switch sw2 leave it in its original position and try setting up the tx to the MFC03 again

Did you re-push the button again when done with sticks? This will finish set-up and truck should start up and idle/ready to go, flashing lights gone.
