Default U shaped dump boxes

I have been wanting to build a U shaped dump bed for a while now. I've had some free time for the last bit so I started making a King Hauler sized pair of them to see how they would look. They are now both almost ready for powder coating so I thought I should post them up. I think they have turned out very well and have a nice shape and overall look. They are based on my normal, proven screw drive lift, come with all mounting hardware and a rear bumper as per usual. Let me know what you guys think!

If anyone is interested I am looking to get $800US a piece for them plus shipping. That will include the powder coating(many colors to choose from).

It would be easier to build them that way but I've looked at a lot of pictures and seen very few finished other than the way I built them. Maybe on the next ones if these sell.

They seem to be getting more popular here as well. More and more gravel trucks running up and down the island towing a dolly and end dump trailer instead of pups too. Might have to build myself a setup one day.

Are you saying I'm slow Mark?lol

I finished these up today so they are ready for powder coat. I think the ladders finish them off nicely. Hopefully someone else agrees.

I decided to take one of these outside and load it with saw dust before I send them in for coating. The load wasn't really a test of any sort, I just wanted to see what they would look like outside and filled up!

I put down the excavator's remote and was about to drive the truck when the pile gave way. I was able to drive the excavator out of this one by lowering the boom and driving down the pile. I really thought it would turn over but it didn't.

I still have the two of these for sale. I think I am going to take them in for powder coating tomorrow. I haven't decided on a color yet so we'll see what happens... If anyone is interested please let me know.

Thanks Bo. There are at least two different silvers that they stock. One of them is the color that is on my KH dump box and the other is on the blue truck in my customers pics thread. They have a few shades of grey that are on the lighter side as well. I am leaning towards picking something like that for these but I'm unsure.

Like this one? It has a little metal flake in it.

It's in the middle of the pile. The bottom one is the lighter silver and is more of a velvet finish.

You clean one all up and clear coat it. I don't think they have any colors that are close to the raw look.

Well I took a chance and had these powder coated. I had one done in black and tried something new with the other.

This one is coated "chrome". Now I know it does not look exactly like chrome but it does look a fair bit like non-polished aluminum which is what I was shooting for. If you have any experience with ceramic coated headers that's what it looks like in person.

It was very bright when I took these pictures outside.

This inside picture shows it's shine better.

I will post up some pictures of the black one tomorrow. It can be seen a little in the last picture.
