Hemi, i'm glad you're having fun with me too!

On one of the racks i've got a Playmobil concrete mixer, any ideas about what's missing that would make it look more realistic?

Half the time the challenge is trying to find ways to make my build threads interesting enough to get comments.

I always watch your builds but sometimes there just isn't anything I could add to make it any more entertaining

frizzen:

Some "concrete" made from coarse sand, grey paint/white glue that's been painted around the rim of the mixer, painted around the inside of the mixing drum, and dribbled down the sides wouldn't hurt. (That crap ALWAYS builds up around the rim.)

Maybe a few grease stains too? Along with a general "grubbying" up of the mixer. A little weathering makes a BIG difference. (Unless it's supposed to be brand new?) Oh, and DON'T forget the warning labels, gotta keep the safety Nazis happy.

RcSparks did mention the build. I have the STL files for it, but haven't the time to tackle it right now.

The Tamiya forkie ISN'T very awesome! It is the science build that I was working with. I liked that it was a 3 wheeled forkie, so it could maneuver in tight quarters. After seeing how fragile they are, I wish I'd NEVER bought it. I knew when I bought it I would have to so some serious modifications to make er look scaleish.
Well............Our property has been sold, & RCland will be going away. I decided to not invest anymore time & materials into improving the area, since we'll be leaving it in about 2 more months. The warehouse will be put on hold until such time that RCland 2.0 can be developed. This might could take a few years to accomplish, as I'm not yet ready to buy land that's big enough to allow an RC playground to be set up again. Land here is just too darned expensive to do so. HOPEFULLY in 2-4 years I'll find the right parcel that suits my needs/wants & can build another RC playground!

I believe i've found a scale Forklift Paradox: Sometimes new toys can become much more fun if you make them harder to play with. Snowmobile kinda fun for a few minutes. Rip out the motor, build a pallet, strap it down forever, add some detailing, suddenly much more fun to be had with it?

Also if a guy finds several of a nice looking cheap cargo, you can change up the difficulty a little. Like with these friction-motor Snowmobiles, Orange pallet has taller fork pockets than the Red one, since i grabbed a wrong dimention stick of a cut down 2x4 when i built the second. Yale and Linde forks fit almost to the rack, but its tighter. If you were doing it intentional, maybe color code ends of the cargo pallets for difficulty like the bike trails? (Blue/Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Black.)

You also definately run into some oddities. Like the dollhouse breakroom "Coffee machine / Water cooler" pallet weighs more than the Kubota tractor with overbuilt pallet, or the 426 Hemi longblock with accessories pallet.

I found a place that still has the Carson forkies available! https://www.der-getriebedoktor.de/rc...-gabelstapler/

I CAN'T speak pf how they are, as I've yet to receive mine! It was ordered a month & a half ago. For some reason it was shipped, then returned to sender. They re-sent er but the delay had already happened. HOPEFULLY it gets here in time for the 2021 Northwest Model Hobby Expo on Halloween weekend!

That's really cool, hope your new fork shows up! Even better if it can make those events.

Speaking of unobtainable things, I've been hoping to find a place to get some stuff made by "Happy People RC" of germany:
- ''Junheinrich EFG 216k'' UPS 3-wheel forklift
- ''iveco p50 daily'' UPS delivery van

Hopefully it's not going to be like trying to go after the 'peanuts club' Toyota Hi-Ace 1/14 van that's still eluding me after a couple years.

Probably a good thing that nobody else was interested in celebrating 'StarWars Day'. A couple days later 'Revenge of the Sixth' didn't go so well over here...

Does anybody have any suggestions on best practices for how to palletize humanoid robots? Things like: IG-88s, C-3POs, 2-1Bs, T-1000s...

In Bi-centennial Man, "Andrew" was just shipped in a big coffin sized wooden crate. (I think it was wooden, I seem to remember them prying it open in the movie.)

Presumably the crate had the appropriate "Do Not Stack", "This Side Up", and "Fragile" labels applied - and then totally ignored. (I have on good authority that fragile is pronounced fra-GEE-lay. It's Italian donchyaknow.)

A window could be included in the coffin - I mean crate. That way the shipping dock could visually confirm that they were shipping the wrong item. (Still a little miffed about being shipped SOMEBODY ELSE'S order in case you can't tell.)

Good idea about the batteries! Ya always gotta watch those robots...

Mmmm, 'Donut stack.'
'This side up' means keep stabbing and dropping it until UP can 'Stand in the Place that you Work and face North'.
'Fragile', weren't those the little muppets working in a mine in the show Fragile Rock?

Robot Body-sized crates could work.
But that might turn into a whole new side quest of distraction...
Might not be too hard to make a couple 'Ziegler cases' or 'Jim Wilson trays'
Find out how Batesville Casket packages theirs for truck shipment
Cheap rates with the Vampire travel agency?

Not too much shaking here, been messing with a couple new pallets. But i've noticed Bruder now has a Much larger forklift, Linde HT160.

Then this RC video popped up with a Logistics Center using several machines like Carson Linde fork, Happy People RC (ups) Jungheinruch 3-wheel fork, and a Powered Pallet-Jack.
https://youtu.be/nksH40shybQ

I'm trying to figure of if that tiny pallet-jack rig was a conversion, or scratchbuild.
