Default Relief valve

Have you guys any idea what is the correct location for adjustable relief valve in hydraulic system. Is it between the pump and the control valve or where ?

Opposite end of the valve block to where your pressure line goes in, not sure what your valve is like but on the vario you have at one end a hole for the feed from the pump then next to that a hole that is for return to the tank, then at the other end you have the same i put my relief valve in there. I think there is a picture in the tech section somewhere of joes valve i will try to find the thread.

Edit: this is the picture i copied my setup from, post 14 by Joe http://www.rctruckandconstruction.co...ead.php?t=3697

Thanks carp
I'm using Kampfer's valves, and on those have no bypass line. I'll move the relief valve to other side of the valve block.

I'm not sure how the oil flows through the Vario valve with its two return lines either side, but yes, the relief is on the far side. The Leimbach is the same way, the relief before the oil returns to the tank reservior.

I don't know what effects there'd be with having the relief between the pump & valve.

Did you email Kampfer?

Now that I see you have it running, what did you do?

My Volvo is set up with the relief after the valve block and it seems to work fine.
