I'm glad you guys found that article interesting too. I was suprised by how much bus content they have over there. Bunch of other brands too, and some weird stuff

Looking great. The rear window/roof contour is my fav part.
Looks like upper and lower windshields as well as the back window will be curved in one or more directions. What's the plan to build those? |

i think i remember modeling it as quarter circle with end section curving a little, so im thinking of just clear plastics (packaging) and laminate 2 to 3 sheets so i can bend it easily.

I fully understand. I've been working on a model of a 1950's Mack B-61 for over two years now. Lots of photos on internet as it is a fairly popular model for restorations. But dimensions, not so much. Spend a lot of time with calipers, dividers and a calculator. There is a vintage truck show near me every summer and usually one or two B-61s will show up so I can do some checking. Don't know where you would find a real Scenicrusier to check.

Your bus project is really starting to come together nicely, you and your printer have been busy. (Any idea how many print hours you have in it?)
With the exception of the rear window it looks like all of the curves in the glass will just be simple curves. Heat forming canopies/windshields is not that complicated, there's lots of videos on DIY vacuum forming. And you really don't need much more than a heat gun, a shop-vac, and some wood scraps. The wood's to make the vacuum box. You've already got the 3D model, it won't take too much additional work to model the plugs that you'll need to make the curved glass parts. Of course you'll need to sand/fill the layer lines on the plugs - but I'm sure you are familiar with that process by now. SuperfastMatt recently did a video about how not to make a windshield for his Bonneville streamliner, in fact he showed how not to do it several times. But, he also needs something a little more optically clear than you need for an RC bus. Don |

You did an amazing job with this! Can wait to see it all done. Always wanted a bus but so much work involved.
Ever think of a 'Gyro" controling 4 servo's (4 corners) I saw this done on a bus and it will give you that bus dip and sway when stopping/driving Etc... Adds alot of realism. Not sure if it would work with your application? Very Nice work. Can't wait to see it when done. Alot of work!! |

That's looking great! I really love how well all the curved parts came out
Tamiya makes a great point, something like the 'Superscale 2020' suspension controller would look great adding more dynamic motion to driving that beast.
