Well i got this a few days ago from scott, i would have had it sooner but the post office really did not want to give me the package.... they said they had it but i had to wait till the next day?? yeah i dont know, i thought it was ridiculous. i lost my pictures so ill add some later but who cares about pictures when i have videos? lol Enjoy!!

The second time around i got a little crazy, good thing its only 2 pounds so i can pick it back up

Loading it on my trailer with the new ramps i made. I would have drove it around but my truck is in pieces at the moment.... bummer.

If you talk to small haul, seeing that he is the one that built it he could give you some pricing. Mine was a little different since i bought the dx8 with it and RTR.

Okay here is a video i made and at: 48 seconds the loader slows to almost a dead crawl and thats with the throttle all the way up so i was wondering what the deal is? the battery seems to be fine because once i turned it off and back on it ran fine and the reverse ran fine too... so i dont really know whats wrong i had it running for maybe 15 minutes before hand and i have the motors turned down to 80%. If somebody could help me out or give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated

J.D., it would appear this is a question for SmallHaul as he built the loader. If I may add, sending him a PM would be more appropriate. IMO Joe

Not to get too far in to it because I am no expert - but it appears the slow down starts immediately after the loader falls forward onto the trailer. I would look for something loose that may have shifted and made an electrical contact when the loader rocked forward. Battery? Esc? Receiver? Just my 2c from watching the video...

J.D., that is unusual because the motors and esc are still putting out power because it would still turn and go backwards but, crawl forwards. I think it could have been a software glitch in the dual esc. Is it repeatable or has it ever happened before?

It has happened before... It seems like after a while of driving it, it will do that but after I turn it off then back on it will be fine for a while longer then do it again. I'm fairly certain that nothing is loose because it's done that before when I was only driving on level ground...

Cool little loader. Some of Scott's finest work! I always enjoy seeing these little guys running and operating. They look like a ton of fun. Just like the 1:1 machines are.

Hopefully the little glitch is figured out in short order.

There are some things that could confuse the esc like.. stick position when you plug it in. Did you add the spring loaded centering to the throttle? It calibrates every time you power up so, make sure the stick is neutral when you plug in the battery.

Is it always forward that stops working? If so, is the travel adjustment and expo the same for forward as reverse?

I bought the esc from robotmarket place and if you call them they might have an idea of why it does that sometimes. Hardware wise these dual esc's are great and I have never seen one fail (knock on wood:-) so, I am sure there is a simple explanation for the software hiccup.

I have the 2x10, 2x12 & 2x25 in various models and I sometimes have that happen (slow down) with each of them. I did correct the 2x12 & 2x25 by changing DIP #5 (Auto Calibrate) to down position to turn it off. It works much better for me.

The DIP switches for the 10A, 12A & 25A are all different, so whatever your 2x5 instructions tell you to turn off Auto Calibrate.

The ones I have used in the last couple of loaders I built are the "2x5 RoboClaw" esc's but they have the same dipswitches and programing as the Sabertooth. They have larger heatsinks than the Sabertooth and fit nice in the Loader:

If you want to turn off the auto calibrate like Joe does there is a data sheet on that link that tells you what the dip switches are for. You just lift the black rubber cover from under where the battery sits and you can see the whole esc board and it is easy to access.

I just read through the Data sheet for the roboclaw and when dipswitch #6 is "on" calibration mode is off.

FWIW, I never had luck with these "auto calibrating" ESCs. If there is any tiny glitch in the powersupply, it will send them to calibrate mode. Can cause quite a crash with faster onroad racers. Guess how I found out...
I try to stay clear off them as far as I can.
Hope this solves the problem with the Delta loader, a nifty thing it sure is!

Edit: Thanks for the link, looks like an interesting ESC and I like the dip-switch options! If only all manufacturers would allow users to disable the automatic calibration.

Thanks guys for the input! i will have to try some of the ideas out when i find time.... I did put in the self centering spring and i always make sure its in neutral before i plug the battery in... so maybe turning the calibration mode off will work.
