Buying my first real RC excavator
I`m currently owning a Huina 1580 but want to purhase a bigger and heavier hydraulic machine. Unfortunately I do not have a ton of money to spend so I`m looking for a cheaper option.
The cheapest option as I can find is the 4200XL excavator and I have read a ton of info about it. Both positive but mainly negative. Is this really that bad or is it still worth the money? Also I see that they promote this as a version 2.0, what ar changed compare to the version 1.0? Last edited by waqr; 01-19-2021 at 11:47 AM. |

Re: Buying my first real RC excavator
you can always upgrade the pump any hydraulics if you need to on the 4200xl. but if you have some spare cash look at the other options on aliexpress for about the same price. better quality than the 4200xl.

Re: Buying my first real RC excavator
The Ali Express models, the ones that I've seen first hand, the drive system looks more realistic. They achieve this by having a chain drive that's well hidden to operate the tracks. When those chain drive systems break, it's a real pain to repair them. A fellow in our RC club had one of them. It looks scale, but was a FULL day's job to repair the chain drive!

The 4200XL does have it's drawbacks. With that said, for the price it's a decent machine!

Re: Buying my first real RC excavator
I just purchased my Rc4wd 4200XL, it came a day ago, I’ve seen them working, I know they are not the best, but for your money, they are great, and they are powerful, anyways just my opinion, good luck on your purchase
