The excavator is looking good!

It seems as though Mr. Nutters has been framed/caged based on the labels!? You sure you didn't escape and trash his new parts?

Top view of hood, the decal of fan motor is visible.

This is the body contacts

And this is the underside of hood contacts. So now I can completely remove hood to access batteries without wires interfering. This hood was just the prototype but the topside will be finished and it works so it will be final.

So which way is the fan turning, exhausting air out the top?

In the pic air is blowing down into compartments. About 30% battery and 70% pump/esc ect.. I have the ability to reverse the fan unit. Not electrically because it's a computer fan but can physically invert it to blow air out. I was at a toss up on what is best. Air down will pull dust and dirt into vs pulling air out doesn't cool as much. But the way the side vents are placed air can flow from sides as well as under boom. I may reverse it to pull warm air out as it may lessen dust. Don't really know till some dry dirty days. How are others? Blowing air down onto components or trying to pull hot air out?

The way I see it. Hot air rises so why try forcing it down when you can help pull it up?
And I think your right about the dust factor, another reason to push air out vs draw In.

Yeah that's how 1:1 are,,, the fan is just wedged in there. It's pretty snug that it wouldn't come loose but I can still dig it out and invert it. So that's what I'll do , have to file off the other mounting tab it has and ya wouldn't see the sticker anymore . Hope mom doesn't get into any hardcore gaming on her computer and miss the cooling fan

Looking real good, and that pump is so quiet! can't wait to get mine swopped over.

Are you running a bec? if so did you cut the red wire on the pump esc?

Exclusive, don't hesitate to remind me of any events in our area, I'm in central pa, Williamsport (or close) hopefully when ya see it , it will be painted ready for work. If by York I may have some paint worn off by then and have any bugs worked out.

Stuart, I'm running the radio off the pump esc, so no I didn't cut any of pump wires. The two drive esc and slew ring esc (original one from the 4200) are using just the signal wire (yellow ones for drive motors and white wire for turntable esc in the pics ). And yes the pumps are super quiet. I haven't put more than 300psi (?bar) through it but pump makes easy work at 60%~70% speed to get that. Kinda letting everything break in a bit while testing.

Truckmaker, the railings are 3/32 brass rod, no reason to mess with crimping tube and solid is easy to work with. Originally I was going to make aluminum bolts with 3/32 holes in top for railings and could thread the aluminum to also act as a bolt to hold top plate on, but I think having 1-72 bolts will look a bit better. Having som fun in adding scale appearances. .

Will keep that in mind!! thank you!!

Happy happy!!! Joy joy!! This was part of my Xmas from wife and myself, it finally restocked and picked up today. Im not partial to grizzley stuff but they are in my backyard so to speak. It's a 10x22 variable speed lathe!! Always wanted to be able to change speeds easily!!! Now it's up on the stand , had to bring over the motor hoist. Now the fun begins, tear down and make better!! And I did get a quick change tool post too!! So I guess this means I'm not purchasing a adt but have to make one. Darn!!!

Now I see why you got Mr Nutters to power the lathe with a squirrel cage modification ! Mike I do enjoy your threads , your ability with trucks is much more than I have with trains

Thanks mike, I didn't know what I was getting into when I first got the mill/lathe combo. I strongly suggest anyone getting some to get separate machines if possible. Anyone want a mill/lathe combo? Got to get rid of one .

Hay Mario, I love the hat!!! The dog thinks I've been to Canada now!!

And did a bit more work on the cat-to-be, have a bunch of 1-72 bolts so I've been trying to use em up. I never knew bolts and screws are the same depending on having a nut, bolts have a nut to go with them and screws are inserted into something. Ha I am still capable of learning .

The bottom part is going to be a step with grip tape applied, haven't milled it yet.

And east coast is getting dumped on with snow, my area not bad but others might get 3'.

I did have the d11 out the other day, used it to clear off back deck. Was perfect, I sat inside and operated it from behind the sliding glass door, warm and comfortable
