This is my first scratch built truck. It took me one year to get this far so more will come slow and steady. Most Pacific trucks were custom built, the idea is to take from that and add options to my liking. This will be heavy haul winch truck. some inspiration.

Nice start! I wondered what you were building that was so heavy! What are the rear diffs from?

They are from RC4WD Black well axle. Rig is 20 lbs as of post.

It has 3 frame rails bent as c channel from 22 gauge galvinized stock. inside rails are one inside the other with 3rd rail outside. 1 inch tall by 1/4 inch wide.

Drive is Tamiya standard 3 speed then a split shaft pto 1:1 then an RC4WD R2 two speed. i like the speeds and torque is plenty. i have sheared two drive pins on test pushes so far. and had to switch from plastic to metel gears in the 1:1 motor combiner.

Rear and front suspension are scratch built front leafs are from Tamiya F 350 rear leafs are scratch built.

Thanks, I want to build an 850 Kenworth but it will be 1/10 scale to match my other stuff so I may have to make my own diffs. It would be nice if I could find something large enough that worked though instead.

That truck is a beast.Great job on the suspension and wheels.Truck is looking 1:1,cant wait for the updates.

I plan on moving rear bogies forword after i add two tanks fuel and water, the overhead and the winch once i do that i can figure out were rears will end up

I just cant make up my mind on long or short wheel base. Let me know some opinions. Thanks Don

Hi i think if you made it a bit longer you could have a sleeper to plus it would look cooler
super biuld so far i think i will be looking out for your updates.

Just a question. Is there any movement in the front suspension. It looks like there is not shackle, so it can never give. Or am I wrong. Definetly interesting build. Like the look of these trucks.

Cool truck, it looks like it will be a monster.

How are you finding the Blackwells? I have always wanted to get some, they look so **** nice, but the $$$ is pretty steep for me, are they worth the coin? Are they rock solid?

Yes there is movement and only one anchor. the front top 2 leafs of spring bundle are straight and sliding on a derlin block. rear of top spring is looped and bolted.

Blackwells are ok. they are nicly built. BUT drive center is off center this caused problems with driveshafts between rear axles and only because i wanted the wide supports like the 1:1 if you have a support like IHB did on his mack there would be no problem. also i have sheared both pins in the front steering axle just pushing a chair around the house. they have an upgrade for 40$ now i see why. i ended up putting roll pins in so far so good.

keep in mind they are locked diff's
