battery charging

Hi all,
I finally am starting the build of My tamiya Scania and want to hide the battery in the fuel tank. Is there any way of building a charge input while having the MFU still connected. Thanks

I havnt tried it but i would think you would be able to as long as you were to put a cutoff switch between the battery and the MFU unit

Have to agree, the cut off switch should be ok. If it's wrong, i'm sure someone could let us know.:p;)

I've fitted a charge socket and mfu cut off switch to my globe, works a treat, can take some pics and post later if you like.

Here you go:

Made up a charge lead:

Piggy backed 2 batteries together for longer run times:
(its not metalic paint, just dust!!!)

Charge lead attached to truck:

Power goes from the batteries through a tamiya plug to the charge socket then + goes to the switch and from there to the mfu via another tamiya plug with the -.

I fitted the tamiya plugs so as it was "plug and play" with future batteries etc.

Hope this makes sense, I can't take any pics of the wiring with out taking the cab off.

That actually helps out alot!! i like this simple yet effective idea. ill make some holes in my cab floor for the switch and charge port. i like the idea of piggy backing the battery packs, i have 2 one as a back up for when the other goes dead and i still want run time. this deffinitaly gives me ideas as what to do to mine! Thank you!

nice looking globe btw...

hello i'm new to that idea...you can piggyback the batteries ?do you get power from both at the same time ?does that increase your run time ?can you use any size batteries for this setup currently i use wolfpack 4200 nmh and right now i get about 1 hour run time depending on how heavy the trailer and load is:)
