In these two following pictures you will see the secrets of the turning part.
Two 90dgr. bewelgears and a motor do the trick. A potentiometer is mounted to set the endpoints and it can be fine tuned via the radio controller.

Rearend is done, except of the fender over the cylinder. Turning cylinders are done with adjustment-nuts

When you take a look under the plowframe you will notice the wire coming out to raise and lower the plow. Fine tuning is done by the nut on the cylinder

Landwheel steeres left and right, stopsrews are securing that the wheel is aligned with the coming landsides.

Plough raises and lowers, again the stopscrew secures the correct depth.
Boom turns over and tiltscrews are in place to secure that the boom lays horizontal when the tractor drives in the furrow.

First furrow adjustment is working. Furrowwidth adj. is coming soon….

Electronics consists of a printboard from a Hitec HS 5045 digital servo. But the potentiometers has got a 2 kOhm resistance to achieve a full 180+ degr. operation. Instead of the 120degr. standard. Endpoint and trims is made from the transmitter.

Really amazing machining and brass work! Even making the miniature tools to go with it, just blows my mind. What diameter is that motor you are using and where do you find such small motors with gear boxes like that? Thanks.

Anders, are you running the Falhauber motor in this tractor......if so, which ESC are you using.

Hello everybody


Time flies and I have a made a little progress on my 7 furrow reversible plow.

As you can see I am alomost there. I mounted all the beam supports to make it variable between 19 and 31mm or 30-50cm or 12-20" in real life -and it works :)
Its manually adjustable via a spindle just like the first-furrow adjustment.
Then I made a new wheel with hub and a tire-thread pattern almost identical to real one. At least the dimensions is correct.
Then I've got all 'the same parts' cut out for me. I actually wanted this project to be 'hand made' but I thought that the project took me from somewhere around 2009 till now, and it would only take longer to do it by hand...
So I guess I have been around many aspects of designing and building in this project. By hand and by CNC, from drawings on a paper to exact measurements on the screen.
Mouldboard is from stainless steel and all the 'parts' has been laser-engraved to give a realistic view.

Very nice model and good skills on making all those small details. Have never thought about using servo parts to control an electric motor. Guess you can use cheapest servo as long as not going over rate of current.

This is the most detailed farm equipment build I've ever seen! I know there are guys who build models with a lot of detail for static display, but this is all functional! Amazing! Keep it up!

Glad you are still finding time for hobbies Anders. I think your work is fantastic and the cut parts certainly made the replication easier than by hand. Excellent project and detailing!

Finally

The plow is now ready for the first take off. First test will take place in Husum, Germany, at Traktorado. I am excited and curious to see how it will work in the soil.

First off, I know that the design has become very fragile due to some of the details and need to hide away all electronics etc.

So, let's see if this will become a shelf model or a real RC model....

It will be pulled with my JD 7920, in furrow.

I'm afraid that your wide tires may give some issues on this one.... :)
