Too bad you couldn't put a release on the planetaries like I have on my manlift, when it breaks down, you remove covers for the release buttons, push them in to freewheel the hubs.

Azonic, are you wanting to replace all the components for a metal undercarriage on your 470 or are you wanting just chains and pads?...I think the new tracks look great for detail especially, I agree...

The mack is actually a RD6904X(4X4), I have a boat business repairing marine diesel engines and generators. I also transported boats for some years and this is a pic of one of the last ones I hauled....

The new tires look very nice and are bigger as is the new bucket (which looks great, like going from a rock bucket to a mulch bucket), think it will make a noticable difference in the crowd loading...

So, the vario is 18.5mm(.729"), that is a little more from what Joe said. That sounds more like a 1/12th scale track pitch of a machine that size in 1:1 though.

The freightliner and the chevy I am selling at some point and the mack is what is replacing the chevy. Nothing wrong with the chevy, the mack pulls the mountians better.

I know what you mean, I just wish there was more hauls that paid what they are worth. I hauled oversize boats up and down the east coast and it paid well when I ran but, there are so many that run...

What is it (the bearing) supposed to look like, do you have any photos? are the bearings impregnated, alum/bronze etc.? as far as the next project, a shovel would be a good choice. How big?
