Re: Help with a bandsaw
It's a Rigid blade, I bought two when I bought the band saw. They are 18TPI 3/8 wide. They say for metal, and the picture shows I beam, and I'm only trying to cut sheet! lol
I need to swing by the...

Re: Help with a bandsaw
The dimmer switch sounds interesting, but is it a regular light dimmer? Seems that wouldn't be able to handle a motor.
I'm no bandsawologist, but from what I gathered, the blade moves too fast,...

Re: My ford aeromax and trailer.
Dude that is freaking awesome work on the styrene flames!
I've seen a lot of great styrene work, but that'll stick around a little better in the old noggen.
Goes great with the truck too, can't...

Huh, interesting. Only stick radio I've really ever used was a 2 channel for RC cars and just used my thumbs. First 4channel/more than 2 channel radio was a Nomadio Sensor which I still have and...

I wonder if the MFU2 is the same, the one for High Lift based trucks. I have one going in a build, but already planned on a Y cable and a Mamba Monster.

Re: for the radio wizards
Look at post number 4 (http://rctruckandconstruction.com/showpost.php?p=3365&postcount=4)
Hobby King has 6 channel radios for $24 bucks, you could easily get two of them. Somewhere else I posted two...

Re: for the radio wizards
Okay, here's a pic of mine so you can get an idea of size. You can control motors with it as I said, and you can also set each funtion to be on/off or momentary with the bank of micro-rocker switches...

That's what I got, MCD made them and as well in a 16 function flavor. Thought I had the 16 but just the 8. It has a linear push button panel that mounts on the TX and a module that mounts in the...

Re: for the radio wizards
The one I got was from Model Control Devices. His site is down now, and about the time I bought mine there was a thread on RCgroups about how poor his service was getting.
Mine's a 16 function...

Re: Help with a bandsaw
I'm not sure honestly, it's in the closet right now but I'm planning on using it here shortly.
I have a bi-metal blade, but thicker metal it want's to go off, too fast from what I've read.
I'll...

Re: Paint help
If you have an auto parts place, they should have a good selection of sand paper, Home Depot may also. Or an auto paint supply or paint shop may have some, you need so little they may even just give...

Re: Knight Hauler
If you want to convert the Globe to a Volvo, you can get all the cab parts for about $90.
The Globe looks good, bet you could sell the cab for that easy.

Lucky mofo, I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist for Tamiya stuff since you told me about it.

I'm starting to think VARCOR needs a semi sub-forum......

Re: Paint help
You see an off color part or a ripple'ish in it? If it's a ripple you should be able to just smooth it, start lightly swith something like 400 grit and move up, 800, 1000, 1500 etc, until it's...

Help with a bandsaw
I bought one of those $100 Ryobi bandsaws at Home Depot awhile back. I like it, great value for the price, however it's too fast for cutting metal over 1/32 or so. It'll cut 1/16 but not straigh. I...

Re: 1:1 stretch truck question
That's what I was thinking as I too was pondering the stretched trucks. They must be pretty much road only as it would make it trick or impossible to get into some spots.
Does it make much of a...

Re: Driven front axle options?
After looking at a diff I have, I got to thinking about the link I posted to RCC. This would lock the diff making it a posi rear, or front as the case may be.
So I was looking at the diff parts, and...

Re: So what was everyone's first truck?
@ fhhhstix, I was 9 in 81 and have no recollection of that rig, I did have a couple Hot Wheels Steering Rigs though that got a lot of road time!
Thanks for posting, I haven't thought about those...

Re: So what was everyone's first truck?
Okay, guess I might as well reply in my own thread lol.
I started back in 85'ish with a Tamiya Hornet, then a Blackfoot, and then a Super Champ. I did a little racing at the LHS, and then got a...

I was actually laying out some plans for making something similar...
