I use all aluminum for my cylinders the tube is usually .064 wall and the ends are welded in with a welding rod that uses propane or map gas torches. Many laugh at me but the cylinders...

Looking good I built a twin engine Euclid scraper years ago, it was fun. Already asked did you buy the hydraulic pump or build it. I'm building my own pumps but having problems with driving motors...
