And back then companies didn't spend a lot on repainting their equipment....whatever color it came in that's what they went with, just stuck a sticker on the door....

I guess period colors makes it would make it red, yellow or maybe orange.
Orange with yellow accents might be cool especially if your thinking about doing all your equipment in a similar color...

Those WPL 1/10 d-12 chassis are really handy.... People are using them for all kind of conversions....

I never liked the look of the square linear actuator but I finally gave in...the 21mm stroke was perfect for my Tonka's and the end switches were kind of nice.... I just painted the actuator and...

Hmmmmm.... I would have to solder the bucket but I guess that could work....

Frizzen... That toy has the same boom and dipper that my Structo has.... they just changed up the house for the newer toy....You could convert it...Just need to re-enforce some spots...

Those are great reference pictures... But looking at other pictures it looks like there were several ways the cabling was configured so I would think one is a correct as the others..
