That's not bad at all. I have tried few conversions my self,but small tamiya gearboxes failed one after another,3v motors are just to weak.

i changed the 3v motors for 6v pololu motors and surprisingly the performance was much worse so i went back to the 3v motors but i think i am over working them so i don't know how long they will last. I do have a few spares though.
