just thinking that you might look for some thin plastic C channel and a little help with some heat to get it to bend around the corners. if your real keen on a rubber look I have seen some people cut the rubber back from a thread of thin wire and pull the copper out. then they push the rubber over the plastic edge. kinda like how the real gasket works.

that's my thoughts...

I have some H-channel rubber used for windows. It is a product of http://www.knupfershop.de/, called Gummi-H-Profil, 4mm and 2.5mm sizes. Purchased in US through http://modelmotorcars.com/ and it is just like the channel used on real vehicles and heavy equipment.
