After the sleeper was finished in its format, I wanted to be able to open and close the sleeper doors. They will hide the On/Off switch, the charcher contacts, connection points for the sound module and custom build computer boards.
My first idea was to create lock bars moved by bowden cables. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The doors were fastened with brass hinges. ![]() The next step was the control block ![]() ![]() ![]() But the hinges set on the outside wasn't very nice, I wanted to hide them. So I tested other hinges that were fixed from behind. ![]() Horror !!! Because of the fact the the PS plates are 2mm thick, the doors can't be opened with a standard hinge without a hige gap between sleeper and dor. So I started to design custom hinges that can open and the door can slide out a bit. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From the outside ![]() From the inside ![]()
