Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
Dolly system didn't work. Back to the drawing board. Need to get more weight further back or get the top bar to lock into the cradle better. Front section was dragging on the ground. The tire inserts held the weight just fine though. I suppose this is what happens when you guess on the geometry haha!
On the other hand, the big bucket was awesome for Indy rubber! |

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
The mig welding I've done on my buckets don't look that bad now, eh Nate?

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
I ran out of tig gas before I got to the mounts so that's all mig in there. I can always grind them down I suppose.

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
Finally was able to get my stuff out of storage from the fire and tear into this thing. Body was heavily damaged but I've got the new raw body from JDH ready for paint.
Haven't tested the electronics yet but there's no visual damage. Looks like all I'll have to replace is the hydraulic lines from the splitter to the arm cylinders. Those were melted in spots so I'm sure the fluid was cooked pretty good. Anyone know a source on this side of the pond for those lines? I believe they're the 6mm lines but I forgot to measure last night. |

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
Gardentrucking.com sells 1.5 mm and 2.5 mm hydraulic tubing for about $2 a foot and RC4WD sells 2.0 mm tubing about 40" long for $17 but I didn't see any 6mm anywhere.

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
For reference:
Smaller hydraulic line for the boom/stick/bucket cylinders uses the following: Parker PA 12-PHL DIN 74324 Size is 4mm OD x 2.7mm ID x 0.65mm Thickness |

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
Can't seem to find any retailers state-side that carry the Parker. I found this stuff on Mcmaster Carr today and will report back if it works well:

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
OHH!!! I can help! I am about to order this
http://www.grainger.com/product/PARK...KR2?s_pp=false for my LR 634, it's close enough to 3mm OD. You might find your size on there. Good luck! |

Re: PFB's Vario JD 850D
That tubing works great and is the same stiffness as what the excavator was supplied with.
