Thanks for the links guys. I received some parts today in the mail. Somewhere along the way my "do not safe drop" package got ran over by the looks of it! Some stuff inside was crushed to but by the looks of things none of the actual parts were damaged just their packaging.
![]() ![]() ![]() I am already regretting the choice to use servos for the drives. I ordered some 360 tower pro servos and one glitched and fried within 30 seconds of plugging it into the receiver! ![]() I picked up some actuators from Ian at Firgelli on Sunday for the blade movement. I haven't made much progress but I have done a bit toward the C frame and actuator mounts. ![]() Here's a picture of my jig when I did the Volvo's tracks. It's nothing special that's for sure... ![]() Last edited by RCP57; 11-04-2014 at 09:07 PM. |

OK, so this thing might as well have been a scratch build... I seriously doubt it would have cost much more and probably would have only taken twice as long to build. Having said that I am starting to think that this may be the most rugged looking example of this particular type of Bruder dozer.
I spent some more time on this tonight and it's starting to take shape now. I have the lower part of the blade mounted to the c frame and the c frame mounted to the Cat. While I was at it I decided that the blade was too narrow so I added 1/2" to the middle. Not a big deal, although I wish I had done it right the first time. Once I had that to my liking I milled up the guarding on the top and welded it on. Let me know what you think! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Reg,
Guarding and blade assembly turned out nice. It's the little things by way of detail that breaths life into what was a toy. Very well done. Cheers Paul |
