That's an awesome looking truck / rotator. Starting to look like the infamous "Kong" rotator out of New Jersey.

thanks vanisle

spent some time on my stuff yesterday. I put new esc + 2.4 ghz radio in my 5900 , got that bug fixed . then totally move drive componants on this 1 . The darn coupling kept loosening between the 2 trans. so I moved the axial trans. behind the cab and used 1 of those dog bone shafts that seem to accumulate with no use . Results are great , must have had just a slight miss alignment . Finished the body work and pushed the paint , a little orange peel but the sun is working that out now .

thats it for a little bit till I get some other stuff caught up .

In case you haven't seen it, here is a build thread for "Kong."

http://tow411.yuku.com/topic/43285/t...port-unit.html

There are plenty of pictures of a B&B 80 ton rotator on a Paystar similar to yours, although I think the photo you showed was a Miller rotator.

They actually consider it a 100 ton rotator and Highpoint, now Avella, even put a 100 ton rating plate on it (which caused some debate on Tow411). B&B was going through the process to have it re-rated to be a 100 ton rotator but I don't think that was ever done. The limitations appear to be in the carrier and not the rotator itself. I think a B&B 80 ton, Miller 1075, Jerr Dan 70/85 and NRC Heavy Incident Manager will all get the job done.

Personally, I like the look of the Miller, especially on a twin steer chassis. They all make twin steer models but I prefer the look of a 72 inch front axle spread which Miller uses, whereas Jerr Dan and NRC both have the second axle behind the cab. B&B doesn't have a standard twin steer configuration but I think they recently doing one on a stock T800 twin steer chassis.

Regardless, your Paystar is going to be awesome!

I'm actually pondering a twin steer , and with the axial trans slid back I got the space for it . I can even slide it back more . could be a reality with the time it is taking me to build it .

Oh, you should definitely do a twin steer. You can find lots of photos on Tow411 (as you probably know already). There are also some on wreckerdriver. Here is a nice C500 twinsteer with a Miller on it.

Sorry, I don't know how to post photos directly yet.

I think I will Ohhh more tlt super singles The thing with Kong is it has at least a 24000# front and 65000# rear . Those Paystar's are built to take just about anything ,much like a kw c500 .it's rare to find 1 with a light spec unless you get a soft nose . A local towing co had a c500 with just the crane on it , what a beast ,shame they lost it in a shop fire .

thanks Troy

Steve that is going to be a beast. I can't wait to see her finished and doing a rotated recovery. With the wrecker I have now and the one that is on the way I'm tempted to buy one of those cheap chinese ones and beat it up a little for the tow's to have something on the hook.
