Welcome to the forum Scott.
Build the kit 1st & run it, have some fun with it, then perhaps contemplate how'd you like to modify it to make it your own. I've seen too many ppl who try to hit a homerun with excessive detailing & never get it done, loose interest, give up. ![]() I like Spektrum radios, they're very user friendly to program. There's cheaper china brand radios to be had, but their longevity is questionable, some ppl have good luck with no issues, but I never did. A DX8 8ch should be adequate to cover every function you could need or want in a trk/trl & even most construction equip too. http://www.horizonhobby.com/dx8-tran...ode-2-spmr8000

Thanks,
The advice is much appreciated, definitely going to start out slow and gather as much information as possible, and this certainly seems like the place to do it. I've been eyeing up the Tamiya Scania R620 6x4 as my first venture into R/C. |
