Default Re: Demag TC 500 truck crane in scale 1/24

After a little break I continued with the Demag crane.



I started working on the boom. I plan on making the longest main boom available, which is about 250 feet for the real one. It will result in about 10’ for the model.
This took some preparation, setting up jigs and so on, making the joints.
I use square brass and turn them to fit in the brass tubes. I connect them with silver solder.



Then the holes are drilled.



I made a very successful setup to create the female joint on my old little Unimat. It works beautifully.





In order to get the distance between the pins right I made a jig. I first drill the hole on the one side, then pin the chord on the jig and drill the other hole.



And this is the jig for the final assembly. It should guarantee proper alignment. We will see.



I think I have everything ready to start producing all the boom sections.
