The most promising looking toy to convert that i've seen is an old metal Ertl backhoe. Think in was international or a deere.
Problem is it's a LOT of stuff to cram in there. Drive 2 ch, bucket 2 ch, dig 4 ch. Then you might still want lights or outriggers or...
