I really don't know what you guys are going on about.
I like his eyes, they've seen things. Too many things. Things that come back when he closes them. Things that come back with certain sounds, smells... Shell-shocked. War-weary. PTSD. I think with the expression and eyes you nailed it, he looks perfect hanging out by the Purple Heart sign.
