It was finally time to get the chassis moved off the mockup axles. Decided it needed some wpl 'potmetal' axles, and might as well get a set of brass Differentials instead of the steel Spools those come with. My thinking was that a Box truck probably needs turning radius more than 4 wheel traction or durability.
Get in the zone, Advance toy parts Oh oh oh, oh Napa. We didn't need liftgate service, so they were willing to send a parts-runner out to the garage. ![]() These brass Differentials felt crunchy, so i spent a while pushing inward on axles while rotating to help wear in the gears. I plan to run them for a while, then open to clean and lube. Everything needs to come apart for threadlock once it's more final anyway, so that shouldn't be a problem. To make up for the larger housings for spiders, these diffs come with a shorter pinion than used on wpl spools. --- I've been looking for a D-wheel dually conversion rim with the convex face.
