Hi together!
I just found the following 12-Volts spindles from a small german supplier: http://www.cti-modellbau.de/index.ph...dde2ac0c7efb9f These parts are specially made for BRUDER conversions, but I´m sure they fit into other models, too. The prices are inclusive the speed controller. No end limit switches are necassery... The speed controller is programmed in that way, that it shuts off the motor when the spindle reaches the end position and the courrant strength exceeds a limited value. Great idea in my opinion... Here are some examples: http://www.cti-aichtal.de/movies/PICT0308MOV.MPG http://www.cti-aichtal.de/movies/Bag...ideo%20006.avi Hope you enjoy it... regards Frank

Has anyone one ordered any of these? I was thinking about ordering one for a dump truck..I just hate to get it and it not do what im looking for it to do. I guess I will have to get the dump bed built and work out the weight it will have to lift fully loaded to see if it will do as I need??

What are the dimensions of the dump bed?
With the power of about 10 pounds per cylinder it won´t be easy I think... I also thought about using them for a folding field cultivator.

the bed dimensions will be 7" inch wide, 6" inch tall, and 14"long...is that 588 cubic inches??
it would be somewhere around 2 1/2 gallons which in fluid weighs 20 lbs..So if by using 2 cylinders doubles the power then 2 should do me fine..I suck at anything math related Im more right brain LOL.. |

That would make about 30 pounds of dry (!!) dirt...
I Guess that won´t work.

The cylinders on a dump bed do not have to suspend the entire weight of what's in the bed - a portion is supported at the bed pins and load just pivots around them. Depends on attachment point of the cylinders relative to the bed pivot pins, bed overhang at the rear, center of mass of actual load, etc.
These cylinders might well do the job, but many variables have to be considered to make that determination. Ken

what if I were to build the dump bed adn then use a spring scale to tip the bed with a full load of dirt in it wouldnt that tell my the weight it is lifting? I would attach the spring scale where the cylinder would attach...It seems like a simple way to figure it or am I missing smething??thanks
