Default Re: 1/14 scale trains

here is a typical "play-action" when I combine trucks and trains :

CustomRCmodels - GardenRailRoad | home

working on the railroad

damages to some of my track called for a night-repair-action !

some of the curved and even the straight section of my previous layout

( the curved section behind the large loco-shed and the straight one behind the ware-house )
( click on the image to see more .... )

had been damaged over time .....

....... looking like a roller-coaster !

you wonder how this happened ?
well , first the "lady of the house" thinks she can "practice" curb-parking ,
then a fascinated kid had to grab the tracks and pull them out of there gravel-bed ,
which made one of my neighbors ( not lifting his feet ) struggle right over it
and then "mama" thought she had to "flatten" them "again" with the car ....
which obviously just made it worse....LOL..

so it was time to redesigned the layout and call in the work-force !

the old track is being removed and the last new section just gets installed !

here you can see the layout change :
off-set added after switch and the large 90 turn is separated in 2x large 45's
with a short straight section as rail-road-crossing for the trucks

ok , all done , rest of the junk being removed and all equipment loaded up ....

let's hit the road back home ! time for a few cold ones !

or should I have said : " hit the track " ...?

all the work can't be done without "proper" supervision

the newest member of the neighborhood was watching everything and had to take his first inspection

" no cat-food on the rail-road-car ? boomer " ....

" Halt - Stop ! ........... something squeaks ? ... when was the last overhaul on this thing " ?

alright , kitty is going home , tracks are clear ..........

( finished layout change ! )

.........and first test-run was done without any derailments !
