Neil, I got a couple of tired out Stahl hoes that I've thought about doing something like this and keep the rotation in it too.

komatsu has them on an excavator track frame where the whole uper rotates like the excavator . basically no backing up needed
just drive to dump area , spin and dump , drive back, and repeat
