I have one my kid played with for about a year before one broke they are just white pot metal very weak for sure I would not even try cutting the treads off.

What if you were to.... Just kidding, Sounds like it would be a lost cause. That is a shame because it is a great looking dozer. I am sure if it was a more feasible conversion It would have been done many times over like the Bruders. Thanks for the info. I may get one just to look at anyway.
