Default FATBOY's.........LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG SHOT

well fellas, i honestly know nuttin' bout 1:1 big rigs, but i'm gonna give it my best shot at attempting to build a custom stretched scale semi.

my cab arrived yesterday, and after fixing some known damage that it had aquired in shipping to the OG owner, i started deciding my direction with how i wanted the cab/sleeper to look.

i started by cutting the sleeper loose from the cab.

and i knew i wanted the flat top look. so i started playing around with it a bit, and finally just flipped it face down.

and this i like pretty well.

well i also got an extra sleeper with this cab. so after a few minutes of just starring at it on the bench, and a few seconds diciding where to cut, i got my razor saw back in my hand and went to work.

first sleeper cut.........

second sleeper cut.......

then i glued the 2 together.......

still have to pick up some 2mm sheet styrene to fill the new roof area with, but you get the idea of the look. it has all rounded corners now, a much smoother look, i think.

i had also picked up some supplies to build my stacks with yesterday morning while on a LOWES run for work.

i just marked the center, and sliced the pipe in half on about a 45 degree angle. i will solder the pipe and the elbows together (once i determine their final length), then pass them off to a good freind of mine who works at a local chrome shop for some added shine.

i also picked up my donor chassis/drivetrain, but it'll be awhile before i post anything bout that. i got some parts i need to get ordered, and a crawler project to finish within the next week. before i really get to show this rig my full attention.

Not going to spoil it for everyone but he snatched up the donor chassis from my boneyard, and is in the home stretch on a JK southern rock bouncer for me. When its done lets see what crawls out of his mind after I bit him with the semi bug

ok, so i'm wanting a custom one off look. so with my sleeper mod out of the way, and Art's jk crawler on hold till i pick the chassis up from powdercoater tomorrow evening, i decided to work on modding my front fenders. i'd already decided on the route i was gonna take, and looking over the PIPE DREAM build, i decided on borrowing his trick wick with the PVC.

i picked up a couple of the PVC peices the other day, and got started on them yesterday, and finished them both up today.

here's a few pics i took along the way.

i wanted this rig to have a real low stance, so i raised the fenders a bit on the hood to help get the look as low as possible.
