Oldtimer tower crane
Hello all,
i have started this model in 2007 and this year i will finish it. The original was built by Liebherr in the 1950s and this kind of cranes are standard till end of 1960s. Frame and tower are made in aluminum, the boom in brass. Max height is nearly 2 meters. Frame: Tower: boom: transporting with lowered tower: here you can see the newest pics of this week: the crane in motion: pull up the tower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krgwJcd0vx8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9Gj98Q5CVM pull up the boom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_no8NEayV8 lower the tower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcgVRA_XVn0 Best Regards Wolfgang

Re: Oldtimer tower crane
I haven't seen this one before. Super work all around. I can see why you have to operate it outdoors! I like the all metal construction. I reminds me somewhat of the modern tower cranes. I assume it will rotate and have operating drums and all, huh? Great piece of machinery. Dan

Re: Oldtimer tower crane
Really nice job. I didn't see any but I suspect you are going to have outriggers so it will not topple over in high winds. Can't wait to see it finished.

Re: Oldtimer tower crane
**** all,
the chassis of the sitting room is nearly finished. A simple suspension gives a little comfort by racing over the highway, lol pipe for the heating: the roof is made in corrugated iron
