Or the tube holds the nut on the blind end of the "rod" and you spin the screw inside of it all

This is the method I have seen on some german models. When it is really small and there are 2 cylinders (1 per side) the motor is in one and the limit switching is in the other. Never saw great pics on it but it was in the translated description.

I am surprised that someone in Germany hasn't manufactured a variety of small screw drives already, with all of the rc construction interest there.

With all of the manufacturors of construction equipment with hydraulics in Germany, I can see why there wouldn't be much talk about this model in Europe. I like the idea but still too much money for me to take a chance on something new.
