For the amount of machining that was necessary, you are about right on the time. If you were power tapping, you might be a little slow. Machining looks great. And you even deburred the parts!! If you want to really slow down, make all of those holes 00-90 thread size without breaking any taps

Thanks guys. I think the amount of time it took was fine, it just seems like forever. All the holes were started with a center drill, then drilled to size, then tapped. I don't tap them in my mill because I don't have a tapping head yet. The mill has a 'tapping feature' but I have used it with mixed success. I use a cordless drill and a lot of patients. I always take the time to de-bur my parts... I don't want myself or anyone else cutting themselves on a sharp edge.
![]() I don't have any 00-90 taps and I can't imagine how careful you would have to be with them. My smallest is 0-80 and I have broken a couple... ![]() |

Thanks, I think so too!
All I have been doing lately is working on boxes so I decided to take a break and get some work done on my KH. I didn't get a lot done but I made up an aluminum panel to fill in the back of the cab. I plan on scratch building an aluminum cab soon but don't have the time right now so this will do. When I bought the truck it came with two trannies ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking! |
