Re: rogers 55 ton (to start) detachable trailer
OMG there's as much dust on this thread as the trailer it self well not any more I waited a long time for some nice skins on er ( since last march ) And finally got it to detach buy it self I still got to put the servo in to fold the supports up and make a bracket in the right position for the cylinder . And of course run the hose through the goose neck .
short vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWx4CwrLS6E and a pic of new skins Thanks for looking IHSteve

Re: rogers 55 ton (to start) detachable trailer
Steve, How is the lift mechanism powered...and what was that small piece that lifted up off the ground after the trailer lifted up? It looked really clever and very .

Scott , this detach is based of 1 I use to have " ground bearing " basically a cylinder with a foot like a crane out rigger . Paul , it's made of 1/16 steel Steve

Steve. Trailer looks fantastic, same as all the work you turn out. Did you have any luck getting a your own pump running.

thanks Chris I just put the servo in and moved the cylinder to where it's supposed to be . NOW what gets me is , you get such a long cylinder w/a short stroke Ineed a 1/2 " longer which will make it stick up above the neck well you know what that means custom make but sad thing is ,THE LATHE IS TIED UP Quote:

Re: rogers 55 ton (to start) detachable trailer
Steve - they probably built the cylinders around materials available .... so maybe ifyou take the stck cylinder - open it up and do a little machineing then add a new rod you could get that needed length....
Now since the trailer that my dad was first using is this same trailer style - he always had to drop a block under the cylinder because it barely had enough stroke fr the job at hand........looks like you built it true to scale....LOL |
